Tis the Season....for traditions!

I love the fact that we have started our own family traditions.....
We took Walker to visit Santa and ride the Pink Pig again this year. Daniel and I grew up in South Georgia, so we weren't familiar with the Pink Pig until we moved near Atlanta. It is just a short little train ride with lots of lights and music....but so much fun for our little one! Walker loved riding it this year.

We also went to see Santa at Phipps Plaza. Virginia, Jennifer, and their boys met us there. Walker loved looking at Santa, pointing at Santa, and waving at Santa....but he was not a fan of sitting in his lap. I'm hoping we didn't traumatize him for life! :)

Pumpkin Farming

We took Walker to Jaemor Farms to let him experience a true pumpkin patch. It was a COLD and WINDY day so we didn't stay for long. We've been practicing with our spider costume for weeks and I was a little worried at first, but once he saw himself...he loved it! We were able to get a few cute shots of our little "Itsy, Bitsy Spider"! :)

Hunker Down....

Picture Day 2011! We were able to take W to meet his favorite Bulldogs last week. Aaron Murray, Tavarres King, Ben Jones, and Orson Charles were in our lineup. We also got our picture taken with all the quarterbacks and their awesome coach, Uncle Mike! It was hot, but so much fun! We will be cheering on our Dawgs this weekend in the Dome!

He's My Lobster

We took Walker to the beach one last time this summer. We were able to return to Mexico Beach with Daniel's parents. Walker loved the water even more than the last trip. He got to play with his cousins, Sarah Grace and Katie Beth and we got some really cute pictures on the beach.

Beach Vacation

We enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July week with the Bobo family on the South Carolina coast this year. Isle of Palms is such a wonderful place for vacation....close to Charleston, not too crowded, and beautiful. We loved the fellowship of family and lots of noise from the 6 kids under seven in the house! :)

Laser Show

We loaded up the car on Saturday and headed to Stone Mountain. The Carter family joined us there for dinner and the laser show. We put out blankets on the lawn to save our places while we had dinner. It was a good choice, by the time we were done eating the lawn was packed! Blankets, coolers, strollers, and kids everywhere. I even saw one family with a pack and play!
The boys were great and watched the laser show with amazement. It was LATE when we finally got back in the car and W fell asleep immediately. We had a blast and hope to make this a yearly summer event!

All Better....

Our little buddy has been fighting ear infections since January. We seemed to be on antibiotics every couple of weeks. After trying to wait it out until it got warmer, they sent us to the ENT on June 1. Dr. Stewart decided that tubes were our answer and scheduled surgery for June 20. We had to go to the pediatrician twice before today's surgery. Once with an ear infection and then with a virus.
Last Friday we went in for a fever and got sent home with a nebulizer for breathing treatments for the rest of the weekend. They wanted him ready for surgery if possible. If he was still running a fever on Saturday, then there would be no surgery. Walker was not a fan of the nebulizer. He hated the mask and they gave us an attachment with a pacifier. After about 6 treatments he got the hang of it and there were only a few tears.
Luckily the breathing treatments worked and we were at the hospital at 5:30 this morning. After getting registered they sent us back to a room. Walker usually wakes up around 6:30 and he always has a sippy cup of milk along with some cartoons. We had cartoons to watch this morning, but weren't allowed to drink anything. :( He was a tired and cranky little guy. About 7:30 they came in and gave him some Tylenol and some medicine to relax him. After he took the medicine he was a little loopy. He would just giggle for no reason and he couldn't sit up by himself anymore. He headed off to surgery about 7:45 and the doctor came back in about 8:05 and said that everything went great. Apparently he loved the warm blankets in recovery so much he was in there longer than most children....they said he would open his eyes and say, "Ahhh..", and then those little eyes would close again.
They brought him back to us and he was so calm (I had been told to expect lots of tears). He immediately went for his sippy cup of water and a little juice. We were home by 10:00 and everyone took a long nap. When he woke up he was so hungry and ate everything I had for him for lunch and wanted more! All in all it was an easy experience. We hope that this will make him all better and we are ear infection free! Mama and daddy don't like their baby boy to hurt!

Father's Day Fun

I really wanted to do something special for Father's Day this year from Walker. Several of us Mama's were looking to do something creative and we all gathered at Ellen McBrayer's
house. In between Jennifer, Crystal, Virginia, Ellen, and I there are 7 little boys and we thought this would be a great opportunity for them to play together.
The boys had a great time and all the Mama's sure did enjoy the fellowship!
With the help of our friend, Crystal Pollard, we created an awesome little handprint painting for Daddy's office.
Check out our fun afternoon of pictures.

I love to swim!

We are really getting to enjoy our pool this summer. We've lathered up with sunscreen and tried to beat the heat almost everyday. We usually swim right after lunch and it makes for a great afternoon nap. He loves the pool and enjoys splashing!
